I wasn’t quite raised with a camera in my hands, but there was always one close by. Mostly in the hands of my Dad, in fact I have vivid recollections of him rolling around on the ground in an attempt to find the perfect angle for a family portrait. It makes me smile every time I find myself doing the same thing when I’m shooting a car. I guess it must have rubbed off on me.
I received my formal training at the Norwich School of Art and Design; graduating in 1997 with a BA Hons in Graphic Design / Photography, together with an Association of Photographers Award for Editorial Photography.
In 1999, I joined Lotus Cars as a staff photographer, shooting brochure and press photography for upcoming vehicles, in addition to diagnostic and reference images for Lotus Engineering.
In 2006, Jarowan Power Photography was born.
The bulk of my work today is in automotive and specialist engineering. I still shoot regularly for Lotus Cars, but also for companies like Tesla Motors, Aston Martin, Ducati UK, Caterham Cars, bf1 systems, and Caterham F1, and I love every minute of it. I also work with numerous creative agencies and private clients.
